Social and Decision Neuroscience

Weilun Ding Headshot

Weilun Ding

Weilun is a Chen Graduate Fellow in Social and Decision Neuroscience. He is interested in using neural and computational tools to study how naturalistic decisions are formed in the brain through the transformation from the initial sensory input, to the intermediate cognitive state, and then to the final action code. Prior to beginning his PhD at Caltech he was a research assistant at the Neuroeconomics Lab at the University of California, Berkeley. He has an MSc in Data Science from the University of Rochester and a BA in Economics from Fudan University in China.
Marcos Gallo Headshot

Marcos Gallo

Marcos is a Chen Graduate Fellow in Social and Decision Neuroscience. He holds a masters in Economics from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China which he received a full scholarship from the Shanghai Government. He also holds a BA in Economics from Brigham Young University, where he was a commencement speaker at his graduation.
Han Kim Headshot

Sanghyun Yi

Sanghyun is a Chen Graduate Fellow in Social and Decision Neuroscience. He is interested in bi-directional research: understanding the mystery of brains by machine learning techniques and solving machine learning problems by brain science results. He earned his undergraduate degree in mathematics from Seoul National University. He has research experiences in applying machine learning algorithms to solve various problems including human decision making and conversational AI.

Annie Erickson Headshot

Annie Erickson

Annie graduated from Cornell University with a bachelors in Human Biology, Health and Society. Prior to starting her PhD at Caltech, she spent two years at the University of California, San Francisco researching the neural circuity underlying emotional behaviors. At Caltech, Annie is looking forward to studying the neural circuits that drive motivated behavior.
Alex Farhang Headshot

Alexander Farhang

Alexander is a Chen Graduate Fellow in Neurobiology. He was a Staff Research Associate in the Feinberg Lab at the University of California, San Francisco. He conducted research on sensorimotor processing. He earned a bachelors in Biology from Cornell University.
Han Kim Headshot

Tae Han Kim

Han is a Chen Graduate Fellow in Neurobiology. He holds a bachelors in Philosophy of Science and Molecular Genetics from the University of Toronto. As a graduate student, he is interested in using molecular genetic tools for studying systems neuroscience.

Computation and Neural Sytems

Isabelle Rosenthal Headshot

Isabelle Rosenthal

Isabelle graduated from Wellesley College with a BA in Neuroscience before working at the National Eye Institute for two years, studying color vision in primates using neuroimaging and electrophysiology. At Caltech, she is interested in pursuing research at the intersection of neuroscience and computer science, including brain machine interfaces, artificial intelligence, and probing the pathway from perception to decision-making.
